Common Issues & Solutions
I am not receiving the OTP. What should I do?
Ensure your mobile number is linked with Aadhaar. Check your network signal. If the issue persists, try again after some time or restart your phone.
Can I login without a registered mobile number?
No, the OTP is sent only to the registered mobile number. If you haven't linked your mobile number, you must visit an Aadhaar Enrollment Center to update it.
What if I lost my mobile number linked to Aadhaar?
If you have lost your registered mobile number, you cannot login to the portal. You must visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center to update your new mobile number.
Is there any fee for using the My Aadhaar portal?
Most services like downloading e-Aadhaar and address updates (if done online) are free or have a nominal fee (e.g., ₹50 for PVC card). Checking status and locking biometrics are free.
How can I lock my biometrics?
After logging in, scroll down to the "Lock/Unlock Biometrics" service. Click on it, follow the instructions, and your biometrics will be locked instantly to prevent misuse.
What is a Virtual ID (VID)?
VID is a temporary, revocable 16-digit random number mapped with your Aadhaar number. It can be used in place of Aadhaar number whenever authentication or e-KYC services are performed.
