Masked Aadhaar is a privacy-enhanced version of your e-Aadhaar where the first 8 digits of your 12-digit Aadhaar number are replaced with "XXXX-XXXX" and only the last 4 digits are visible. How to Download Masked Aadhaar
Follow these simple steps to download your masked e-Aadhaar with enhanced privacy protection:
Step 1: Visit e-Aadhaar Download Page
Go to the official UIDAI e-Aadhaar download page at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. This is where you can download both regular and masked versions of your e-Aadhaar.
The download page allows you to get your e-Aadhaar using your Aadhaar number, Enrollment ID, or Virtual ID. Make sure you have access to your registered mobile number for OTP verification.
Step 2: Enter Aadhaar Number and Captcha
Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number in the provided field. Type the captcha code exactly as shown in the image (it's case-sensitive). Before clicking "Send OTP", this is the crucial step for getting masked Aadhaar.
Important: Make sure to check the box that says "Do you want a masked Aadhaar?" BEFORE clicking the "Send OTP" button. This is the only way to get the masked version.
Step 3: Select Masked Aadhaar Option
Look for the checkbox labeled "Do you want a masked Aadhaar?" or "I want masked Aadhaar". Check this box to ensure your downloaded e-Aadhaar will have the first 8 digits hidden.
After checking the masked Aadhaar option, click on "Send OTP" button. You will receive a 6-digit OTP on your registered mobile number within a few seconds.
Step 4: Enter OTP and Download
Enter the 6-digit OTP received on your registered mobile number. The OTP is valid for 10 minutes. Click on "Verify & Download" or "Download Aadhaar" button to proceed.
Your masked e-Aadhaar PDF will be downloaded to your device. The file will be password-protected. The password is the combination of the first 4 letters of your name (in CAPITAL letters) and your year of birth (YYYY format).
Success! Your masked e-Aadhaar is now downloaded. When you open it, you'll see only the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number visible, with the first 8 digits shown as XXXX-XXXX.
